Tribal Chairman of the North Fork Mono Tribe, Ron Goode, will speak about his heritage, and the importance of his tribe’s cultural burning practices as part of land management.

Staff Chief Mike Ming (descended of Cherokee and Comanche tribes) and Battalion Chief Warren Parish (Hoopa-enrolled, Pomo, Yurok) of the Behavioral Health and Wellness Program for Cal Fire will speak about their experiences as firefighters, and their current work supporting the mental health and well-being of Cal Fire firefighters.

Rick O'Rourke (Yurok) and Elizabeth Azzuz (Yurok, Karuk) serve on the Cultural Fire Management Council, a collaboration between the Yurok and Karuk tribes. They will speak about reclaiming their right to use fire as a land management tool.
